Närtrafik in Örebro län

Use Närtrafik to handle errands or discover new destinations in the county.

What do I need to know?

Närtrafik is a complementary public transport service for journeys within Örebro County. You can travel between a residential address and the nearest designated Närtrafik stop. Närtrafik is especially useful in areas with limited access to other forms of public transport.

You can travel with Närtrafik if:

  • It is more than 1 km from the residential address to the nearest bus stop.
  • Your nearest stop has fewer than 10 departures per day in each direction. This applies even if your residence is located less than 1 km from the stop.

You must book your journey with Närtrafik in advance.

You cannot book a journey to or from any Närtrafik-bus-stop.
You cannot travel between two Närtrafik-bus-stop.

How to travel

  • You can travel to or from the nearest Närtrafik-bus-stop within the municipality, based on the location of your home address or destination.
  • If there is a Närtrafik-bus-stop in another municipality that is closer to your home address or destination, you may choose to travel to or from that stop instead.

Hours when you can travel

You can travel with Närtrafik:

  • Daytime: Monday-Friday 09.30 AM to 02.30 PM.
  • Evening time: Monday-Thursday 05.30 PM to 09.00 PM.
  • Saturday-sunday: 10.00 PM to 16.00 PM.

Find your nearest or other Närtrafik-bus-stop

Most of the Närtrafik-bus-stops are close to grocery stores, pharmacies and other services. At the Närtrafik-bus-stop, it is also possible to travel further in the county by bus or train.

We have an interactive map that you can access via the journey planner. Click on the I (information symbol) at the top of the menu and then select the box for Local service (Närtrafik), and all about 50 Local service stops will be displayed. These have their own symbol. The color is pink and N is the letter for Närtrafik.

Book your trip with Närtrafik

You book your journey by calling the Order Centre. You will be picked up by a service vehicle, which may be either a small bus or a car. The type of vehicle depends on what is available at the time of your journey.

The trip can be booked no earlier than 14 days before departure. Booking is made by phone to our Order Centre. It is only possible to make a booking on weekdays between 08.00 AM and 04.30 PM.

When booking, you need to give us the following information:

  • social security number
  • telephone number
  • planned payment method for the trip
  • number of travellers
  • if you have a pram, any aids or luggage

If you announce that you will travel on with a connecting bus / train when booking, we will make sure to plan the trip so that you arrive at the Närtrafik-bus-stop in good time to have time to change to a bus or train.

Up to two children under the age of 7 travel free of charge with a paying traveller. 

The minimum age limit for travel without a guardian / adult is 12 years.

We carry out regular ticket inspections on Närtrafiken. Please be prepared to show your ticket and provide proof of any discounts.

If you choose to make purchases using a credit card, it may pose a risk to you if you are unable to pay off your credit or invoice later.

If you fail to repay your debt on time, you risk receiving a payment default, which could make it difficult to rent a home, sign contracts for services, or obtain new loans. For support, contact the budget and debt counselling service in your municipality. Contact details can be found on the Swedish Consumer Agency's (Konsumentverket) website.

Days when we do not operate Närtrafik

There are public holidays when we do not operate Närtrafik. Those days are:

  • Good Friday
  • Easter Sunday
  • Easter Monday
  • Ascension Day
  • May 1st
  • National Day
  • Midsummer Day
  • Christmas Eve
  • Christmas Day
  • Boxing Day
  • New Year's Day
  • Twelfth Night (Epiphany)

Carpooling with others

Travelling with Närtrafik can mean carpooling with other travelers, just like when you travel by bus and train. Due to this, the vehicle may stop at several stops on the road.

We can not guarantee carpooling if you are more than four people traveling.

Pets or guide dog

You may bring a guide dog or assistance dog when travelling with Närtrafiken. You may also bring a dog, cat or another small pet. This also applies to guide dogs. There is no extra charge.

Are you travelling with Närtrafiken and bringing a guide dog or pet? Then you need to inform us when you book your journey.

To ensure the journey is safe for you, your animal and other passengers, you must:

  • use a transport cage or safety harness
  • bring a blanket if the animal will sit on the seat
  • place the animal yourself according to the driver’s instructions
  • take care of the animal throughout the journey

The driver does not handle the animal. You are responsible for ensuring the animal is transported in a traffic-safe manner.

Sjukresa with Närtrafik

Medical trips with Närtrafik are free of charge upon presenting a paper appointment letter for medical care, a visit receipt after the medical appointment, or a digital appointment notification via 1177, Kivra, or another electronic mailbox with BankID.

When you call Serviceresor, you will have four menu options:

  1. Press 1 if you want to cancel a journey or locate your vehicle.
  2. Press 2 if you want to book or rebook a journey.
  3. Press 3 to contact an administrator for sjukresor.
    • During week 26–33, the opening hours will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 10:00 and 12:00.
    • Ordinary opening hours: non‑holiday Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday between 10:00 and 12:00.
  4. Press 4 for questions about Färdtjänst, invoices or if you want to leave a comment.
    • During week 26–33, the opening hours will be Monday to Friday between 9:00 and 12:00.
    • Ordinary opening hours: Non‑holiday Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 14:00.
