What you need to know
If you have a medical appointment, you can travel free of charge to and from a health centre in your home municipality or to specialist care within the county. You can travel by city, regional and express bus, as well as by Tåg i Bergslagen within Örebro County.
Accepted appointment notices for healthcare visits
- A paper appointment letter when travelling to your healthcare visit
- A digital appointment from 1177, Kivra or another secure mailbox with BankID
- A receipt from your healthcare visit when travelling home
From the care visit, the receipt for the care visit serves as a ticket.
You can not combine a Ledsagarbevis with a notice of care or a receipt from the care visit.
For travel with Tåg i Bergslagen
- You can travel on the route between Laxå and Ställdalen
- Use the same appointment letter as for bus travel, whether digital or paper
- For the return journey, show the receipt from your healthcare visit
If you travel with a train company other than Tåg i Bergslagen, you must pay for your journey yourself and claim the cost back afterwards.
If you pay for the journey yourself
You can apply for reimbursement afterwards if you travel to and from healthcare. You can pay for a ticket and get your money back. This applies to both bus and train. To get your money back, complete the healthcare travel claim form and send it to the Healthcare Travel Unit.
For Service travel
- If you cannot travel by bus or train, you can use Service travel
- The cost is 170 SEK for a single journey if you do not have a travel service permit (färdtjänsttillstånd).
- If you have travel service permit (färdtjänsttillstånd), you pay the same fee as for a regular travel service journey
If you live far from a stop
If you live far from the nearest bus stop, you can get a free connecting trip with Service travel vehicles or receive compensation for your own car. If it is not possible for you to travel by public transport to your nearest care unit, you can travel with a Service travel vehicle or your own car for a fee.

Opening hours: During week 26–33, the Patient transport will have telephone hours on weekdays on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, between 10.00 and 12.00.
Ordinary opening hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 10.00 am and 12.00 pm, excluding public holidays.
