More special vehicles
The new contract covers a total of 297 vehicles. Of these, 16 passenger cars are used as reinforcement during the winter months from December to March.
- The number of wheelchair spaces will increase by approximately 100 compared with the previous contract.
- At least 39 of the 77 passenger cars are electric vehicles.
The same training for all drivers
All drivers are certified service journey drivers. Region Örebro County is now responsible for more parts of the drivers' training in order to ensure a shared and high level of competence.
Drivers receive training in, among other things:
- cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- fire safety
- handling of mobility aids
Drivers who operate vehicles equipped with stretchers also receive specialised training in stretcher handling, in cooperation with the county’s ambulance services.
