Here you can find the latest news about how we work based on the prevailing situation in society and how the situation affects your ability to pay on board.

As of Friday, April 17, new routines apply to travel with all our city, region and express buses. It is no longer possible to board via the front doors of the buses, which affects the opportunity to buy tickets on board an validate your tickets. 

However, you must still have a valid ticket when travelling with our buses. You must travel with a pre-purchased and activated ticket. In case of a ticket check, you show your ticket to the controller.

You can buy tickets at the following places:

Länstrafikens app - In the app you can buy single ticket and some season tickets. The ticket is activated immediately upon purchase. You do not need to show the ticket to the driver, but in case of ticket control you need to show it. Read more about how our app works here.

Länstrafikens webbshop - In our webshop, you whom already have a Travel Card can load season tickets and Travel Credit. Season tickets are activated immediately when you validate the ticket in a ticket machine, which must be done before your trip or on board the bus in an available ticket machine.

Länstrafikens Customer Service and sales agent - Here you can buy single and season tickets. Season tickets are activated immediately upon purchase, but you can also choose a later start date if you notify this upon purchase. You will find the nearest sales representative here.

If there is a ticket machine available on board, you must always validate your trip if you are traveling with a season ticket. If you are traveling with Travel Credit, you must purchase a ticket in advance from a sales agent or our Customer Service.

  • Buying a ticket in our app

    You can buy the following tickets via our app:

    You can choose to buy single tickets either by searching for your trip using the app or by selecting the ticket in the Buy Ticket view. Using the Purchase Ticket you will also find the ticket for District C and the City Ticket.

    If you choose to buy a City Ticket or a ticket for District C with a validity of 7 days who have to have a user account.

    Whatever ticket you choose to buy using the app, it is activated immediately on purchase. We therefore recommend that you prepare everything and buy your ticket just before boarding the bus. The ticket is valid from the time of purchase.

    Purchase a single ticket using the app

    You can purchase a single ticket in two ways using the app. The way you choose depends to some extent on where you want to travel:

    • Via Search and purchase a trip: For a single ticket for a regional bus and for travel within Hallsberg, Kumla, Karlskoga, Lindesberg, or Örebro.
    • Via Purchase a ticket: For a single ticket for travel within Hallsberg, Kumla, Karlskoga, Lindesberg, or Örebro.

    Proceed as follows to purchase your single ticket via Search and purchase a trip:

    • Choose the stops you wish to travel between
      • A single ticket within Hallsberg, Kumla, Karlskoga, Lindesberg, or Örebro is valid for the whole town/city; a single ticket for travel on a regional bus is valid between the two selected stops.
      • Choose a departure time
      • Click Search for a trip
      • Click your selected departure
        • You can purchase your ticket no earlier than 20 minutes before departure.
        • If you want to switch price category, click Price and number.
          • Choose Adult, Young Person, Family
          • Choose the number of tickets. You can purchase up to five tickets on each occasion.
          • Click Purchase ticket
          • Check the details
          • Add a new method of payment or continue with the method already selected.
          • Follow the instructions based on your chosen method of payment and complete your purchase.
          • Show the ticket to the driver when you board the bus.

    Proceed as follows to purchase your single ticket via Purchase a ticket:

    • Choose Single ticket
      • You can purchase a single ticket for travel within Hallsberg, Kumla, Karlskoga, Lindesberg, or Örebro. The ticket is valid throughout the whole town/city for one hour.
      • If you have purchased a ticket previously, the details from that ticket will be pre-entered.
      • Choose the town/city you wish to buy a ticket for.
      • Choose the number of tickets and the price category. You can purchase up to five tickets on each occasion regardless of the price category.
      • Click Ready
      • Click Purchase ticket
        • Remember that the ticket validity period begins as soon as the ticket is bought.
        • Check all the details
        • Add a new method of payment or continue with the method already selected.
        • Follow the instructions based on your chosen method of payment and complete your purchase.
        • Show the ticket to the driver when you board the bus.

    Purchase a period ticket using the app

    You can purchase several of our tickets using the app. The tickets you can purchase are:

    • City area ticket for 24 hours or 72 hours
    • Area C ticket for 24 hours or 72 hours

    You purchase your period ticket via Purchase ticket:

    • Choose City area 24/72 hr or Area C 24/72 hr
      • If you have purchased a ticket previously, the details from that ticket will be pre-entered.
      • Choose the town/city and/or the validity period.
      • Choose the number of tickets and the price category. You can purchase up to five tickets        on each occasion regardless of the price category.
      • Click Ready
      • Click Purchase ticket
        • Remember that the ticket validity period begins as soon as the ticket is bought.
        • Check all the details
        • Add a new method of payment or continue with the method already selected.
        • Follow the instructions based on your chosen method of payment and complete your purchase.
        • Show the ticket to the driver when you board the bus.

    Pay for your ticket

    You have several payment options using our app. You can prepare at your own pace by choosing the appropriate payment method before you travel. You can switch to a different payment method at any time. The payment methods we offer via the app are:

    • Swish
    • Bank card
    • Purchase via Klarna
      • Pay within 14 days
      • Pay later - the invoice fee is added
  • Buy a ticket in our webbshop

    In our webshop you can load all our Season Tickets, with the exception of the Annual Ticket, as well as Travel Credit. If you buy Travel Credit you must visit a sales agent to buy a single ticket before you travel with the bus. There are also some buses that have ticket machines you can use.

    To load your card via the webshop, you must already have a Travel Card and you will need to create a user account. 

    You can find our webshop here and also if you click on the webshop icon at the top right of the site. If you do not have a user account, you need to create one. If you already have one, you can log in and complete your purchases.

    When you purchase a season ticket, it is activated immediately when you validate it against a ticket machine. You can do this either at a sales agent, our Customer Service or on board the bus if there is a ticket machine available.

    We have a number of sales agents in the county where you can:

    • Buy and load Travel Cards (Resekort)
    • Buy all our season tickets, except the Annual Ticket.
    • Buy Travel Credit
    • Buy single tickets at presale price
    • Buy single tickets with Travel Credit
    • Find answers to your questions about prices, buses and other ticket related questions
    • Redeem certain offers from Länstrafiken

General advice when travelling with us

We follow the recommendations of Folkhälsomyndigheten and Region Örebro läns smittskydd. 

We ask you to consider the following:

  • Wash your hands
  • Keep distance
  • Abstain from unnecessary travel
  • Avoid rush hour traffic

We especially urge travellers who do not really need to travel during rush hour to refrain from doing so. This in order to prepare the place for those who have to travel unconditionally in order to maintain socially critical functions.
