Pupils who attend primary or lower secondary school or primary or lower secondary school for pupils with special needs, years F-9, and have been granted free travel to and from school, are eligible for the School Card Junior (Grundskolekort).
Validity: Monday - Friday, excluding public holidays and school holidays, 04:30-18:00 for a whole academic year: 19 August 2019 – 12 June 2020.
Area: City and regional bus to and from school. School Card Junior is not valid on trains.
School Card Junior is only valid:
- for the pupil the card was issued to with properly entered in information on the back
- the name of the pupil's school
- the pupil's first and last name
- the pupil´s date of birth (YY-MM-DD)
If the pupil discontinues her/his studies, the card must be returned to the school immediately.
Price: The municipality in which the pupil with a School Card Junior is registered pays for card.
For the ticket to be valid, the card must be placed on the ticket reader on the bus. When the smiley face symbol appears in the display and turns green, the journey has been registered and you are free to board. On buses without ticket readers, the School Card Junior must be shown to the bus driver.
Lost or defected School Card Junior (Grundskolekort)
If your child leaves the School Card Junior (Grundskolekort) at home in the morning, they must contact their school office or class teacher during the day to borrow a temporary School Card Junior to travel home. If your child travels home without a School Card Junior or temporary School Card Junior, they will need to buy a single ticket for the bus journey. The temporary card must be returned to the school the next school day.
If the School Card Junior is lost or stolen, the parent, guardian or child must immediately contact the school office to obtain a replacement. If your child received a School Card Junior directly from Länstrafiken, please contact our Customer Service. The old card will be blocked and can no longer be used.
If the School Card Junior is defected or damaged in some other way and no longer works, it must be replaced immediately. Contact the school office if your child received the School Card Junior from the school or municipality. If you received the card directly from Länstrafiken, please contact our Customer Service.
School Card Junior for a new academic year
If your child is returning to the same school within Örebro County in the next academic year, they should keep their School Card Junior (Grundskolekort) over the summer. When school begins in the autumn, your child will receive a new card on the first day of school, but they should use the old card until they receive the new one.
If you lose your School Card Junior during the summer, you can pick up a new card from the school office.
