New busses in Örebro

Region Örebro County has decided to operate the bus traffic which is handled by us. It will happen together with the neighbouring region Västmanland. The bus traffic will be run with the new company Svealandstrafiken which was formed on January 1, 2018. The advantage of having both the regions together owns the company is that they will be able to use the same buses between the counties. This is also one of the new reasons why the buses get a new color.

Another reason why the bus exchange takes place this year is that a couple of the agreements that Region Örebro län has had with different bus companies (contractors) expire. Until 2025, there will still be some blue buses left in Örebro's public transport. They will be phased out as they reach their lifespan and as the traffic agreements expire.

In total, there are 144 new buses that will be in traffic. The first date for the first bus change is on August 19, 2019. There will be replaced 24 regional buses that will depart from the Odensbacken bus depot.

The second date for the next bus change is September 30. Then a larger amount of buses will be replaced. The number of buses that will be replaced during this date are 78 city buses and 42 regional buses, these will be based from the bus depot in Bettorp.
